John Feigenbaum
President, Senior Numismatist
John brings over 30 years of numismatic experience to David Lawrence Rare Coins and has been a fixture in the coin industry for several decades. His earliest experiences began as early as age 5 when he started attending coin shows and club meetings with his father in southern Florida. Since then, John has been a fixture at trade shows around the country and has enjoyed a lifetime of dealing from both sides of the table. He has also written, The Complete Guide to Washington Quarters (1993) & co-authored The Complete Guide to Certified Barber Coinage (1994) with his father, David Lawrence.
In 1990, John graduated Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Marketing Management and joined his father in the business full time. In 1996, Dave was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease and John took over day-to-day operations at DLRC. Under John's leadership, the company has grown exponentially and has become one of the most progressive companies in the coin industry.
Technology is a focal point in growth of DLRC and John spends as much time with IT development on the computer as coin trading these days.
One of the many highlights in John's career has been the sale of the famous Richmond Collection, which was sold in 2004-5 at three live auction events for a total of $22 million, with several coins breaking the $1 million barrier. The Richmond Collection represents one of the single largest coin consignments ever, a testament to the firm's integrity and the loyalty of DLRC clientele.
In 2008, John and his staff engineered the acquisition of PCI, a third party grading company. The company was renamed Dominion Grading Service, and DGS is committed to bringing the same high level of customer service and quality to the coins they certify for collectors.

John Brush
Vice President, Senior Numismatist
John Brush is one of the young stars of the coin industry. Here at the office he oversees the flow of deals in our coin department and works in concert with Jason Smith and John Feigenbaum to make certain that deals are addressed in a timely manner and collections sent to us are given white-glove treatment. John also travels extensively to coin shows throughout the country where he is well known among the dealer community as one of the sharpest buyers in the country.
John has been a collector since age 5, and a full-time professional dealer since 2002. He joined DLRC in 2006 after working for several years at Spectrum Numismatics, one of the largest wholesale firms on the west coast, where he bought and sold collections and managed a multi-million dollar wholesale inventory.
Dealing in coins valued from 5 cents to over a million dollars, John enjoys all types of numismatic treasures. He claims that, as a child, his parents forced him to collect coins as a child and would not support his hobby of collecting baseball cards. It would become a family affair and the trio would travel to coin shows throughout his childhood, even missing school occasionally... Turns out to be the best part of his eduction!
John graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Religion and a minor in History at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama before attending Emory University for Graduate school. After a summer position with another large coin dealer, John cut the schooling short to deal in coins on a full-time basis.
As a professional, John has also taught classes at several ANA Summer Seminars, including Advanced U.S. Coin Grading class. He’s an associate member of the PNG, life member of the ANA, SCNA, and BRNA and has won several awards for his numismatic articles.
In his spare time, John, his wife Ruth, and their son Wesley enjoy traveling throughout the country and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves.
If you have any questions regarding coins, collecting, history, or just want to talk about the Vols, feel free to give John a call at 1-800-776-0560 ext 125.
