About Quarters

The United States series of quarter dollars, or 25-cent pieces, range from the first one-year type issue of 1796 to the modern day Washington quarter series. The different types include: Bust quarters, Seated quarters, Barber quarters, Standing Liberty quarters and the Washington quarter series. This denomination is quite popular among collectors and there are many challenging and rare issues. The most famous quarter issue might be the 1901-S Barber quarter, however the 1796 quarter is a famous type coin. The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter is another popular key date.
