About American Buffalo Gold
The United States gold bullion program created the American Buffalo designs in 2008 as a response to International demand for U.S. gold coins struck in 0.999 fine (24-karat) gold. The coins were first struck in 2006 in $50 denominations. In 2008 only, the coins were struck in $5, $10, $25 denominations as well, though those fractions have not been reproduced since. The designs are quite beautiful and highly desired by collectors.
