About 3-Cent Nickels (Proof)

The United States Mint produced Proof Three Cent Nickel coins minted continuously from 1865 to 1869. Still widely available in higher grades, a set is relatively easy for an advanced collector with only a handful of key dates. At David Lawrence, we carry a regular inventory of the key dates (1877 and 1878, which are proof-only issues, and the 1865, the first year of issue) from lower-end proof specimens and up. For serious collectors, we also carry higher graded pieces as well.
