The Colonial coin and post-Colony issues of U.S. numismatics are a fascinating history lesson of the country in tangible form. The history of Colonial America is written in these coins which were issues by the original 13 colonies during their earliest development. The post-Colonial issues were a result of the lack of central money supply during the infancy of the U.S. The first official U.S. coinage didn't come to pass until 1793 leaving a large void for consumers who needed currency. As with all other valuable coins, collectors should concentrate on coins certified by PCGS, NGC and CAC.
