Amazing Gem Rarity of a Highly Coveted Saint Gaudens Issue

Wow! It's hard to describe the beauty of this coin without sounding over-enthusiastic. For starters, the 1930-S Saint Gaudens is one of the most highly coveted of all the Saint Gaudens issues. From a small mintage of 74,000 most were melted down for political reasons and this date remains the rarest of all the issues in the entire set in high grade with the exception of the 1920-S, 1921, 1927-D and 1933. That's good company!

The technical and aesthetic qualities of this piece are simply amazing. The coin has received the coveted + grade from PCGS because they probably though long and hard about calling it an MS66. It has light orange and faint green hues blended over golden surfaces and tremendous luster. It would be hard to improve on this piece and belongs in the finest collection.
