David Lawrence referred to this issue as a Philippine Hoard date. Most of the 1899-O and 1900-O dimes were sent to the Philippines for circulation which renders remaining examples quite scarce in high grade. The example offered here is a stunning gem with lightly prooflike surfaces and light rose rim toning with blue highlights. A beauty and rare in this quality. Pop 2 at NGC (1 at PCGS) in this grade with none finer. An important coin for the serious collector.
