Produced for employees of the Kahului & Wailuku Railroad, these coins were compensation items that circulated widely throughout the Hawaiian Islands around 1879.
Mintage of 50,030 coins authorized to commemorate the centennial celebration of Cleveland, Ohio on the occasion of the Great Lakes Exposition in 1936. Single year issue with no D & S mints.
A scarce low mintage issue of just 4,769 pieces. Unfortunately, very few survived and it's a very difficult piece to evaluate, but similar, less rare examples of this issue from different mints have consistently brought over $10k recently.
A very scarce early Syria piece issued under Colonial France, in a grade not often seen. Issued from Beirut with a view of the Imayyad Mosque in Damascus at center. Printed by Bradbury Wilkinson.
