The Small Planchet Pine Tree shillings were the last coins struck at the Massachusetts Mint. Lavender-gray toned surfaces reveal touches of underlying luster. Although concentrated areas of peripheral weakness are present the central devices are quite sharp, and the overall eye appeal is quite strong.

Clearly defined with pleasing orange-brown coloration. A pair of prominent planchet flaws near the upper reverse border is noted but the overall eye appeal is strong.

Exceptionally preserved, the surfaces are of course sharply struck and graced with a warm golden patina that reveal subtle rainbow tints when turned under a light.
