Popular and surprisingly lustrous early Half Cent type coin. Lovely example with fully original and lustrous surfaces. Only 5 other examples graded finer across all grading services with the Brown designation. CAC approved for quality.
An intriguing piece that was described as AU55-prooflike in the Norweb catalog, but later determined to be a proof, as were all 1831 Half Cents. A few light lines are noticeable, most likely the result of a light camel-hair brushing many years ago. Well-struck with lime highlights and pretty iridescent tones.
