    Among the Finest Known

    1856-D G$1 PCGS AU58

    Coins We Love

Tiny mintage of 1,460 pieces. One of the toughest gold dollars to find, as they rarely come to the market. Excellent luster and deep orange-gold color throughout. Only 12 examples finer at both major grading services combined.

    Super Low Mintage

    1858-S G$1 NGC MS61

Only 10,000 coins struck. This early San Francisco issue displays flashy luster and a crisp strike. Great overall eye appeal and a choice example of this rare S-Mint date. Less than a dozen examples are graded finer!

    Tough Date!

    1866 G$1 PCGS/CAC MS65

Early type 3 gold dollar. Only 7,100 coins struck and tougher to find than one would expect. CAC pop = 2; 7 higher. Moderately prooflike fields and excellent eye appeal. Some heavy die polish lines on both sides (as minted) add interest.

    Lone Finest Known

    1868 G$1 PCGS MS67 PL

    Coins We Love

Low Mintage issue of just 10,500 coins and one of only 2 recognized prooflike issues at PCGS, the other being a 66. Deeply reflective fields with no bag marks or chatter. A splash of coppery-red color at 11 o'clock on the obverse serves as the only identifier on this essentially perfect coin.

    Scarce Date!

    1880 G$1 NGC MS67

    Vault Value
    Next Bid: $3,800.00
    Closes: 10D 3H

From a scant mintage of just 1,500 pieces! Deep, dynamic luster swirls in-hand when the coin is rotated. A truly beautiful and mesmerizing example of this better date gold dollar.

    Low Mintage Date

    1889 G$1 PCGS/CAC MS67

Low mintage of 28,950 coins though the higher pop in gem grades keeps the value on par with more common dates. A truly spectacular example with dynamic, unbroken luster and incredible eye appeal. CAC clearly loved it.
