    Scarce Early Double Eagle

    1861-S $20 PCGS/CAC MS62+

    Coins We Love

Rare Mint State example of this Civil War era gold piece. Only three examples have been graded finer between both services. Wonderfully smooth fields are bathed in rich frost and display original warm golden coloration throughout. The design elements are boldly struck throughout and the eye appeal is exceptional! CAC approved for quality. PCGS+ grade for premium quality at the top of end of the assigned grade.

    Key Carson City Double Eagle

    1872-CC $20 PCGS AU55

A beautiful AU-Unc example of this key, low mintage CC double eagle. Just 26,900 coins struck and very few survive in higher circulated grades. Only a handful of uncs are known and nothing finer at either service than MS61! Wonderful AU example with bright, sunny gold coloration and plenty of remaining luster. Strong definition throughout and no individually distracting marks of its brief circulation to take away from the pleasing eye appeal.
