    Lovely AU

    1797 $1 PCGS AU55 (9x7 Stars, Large Letters) ex: D.L. Hansen

Splendid silver mint luster gleams over the surfaces of this impressively preserved, choice AU example. Well defined design elements are highlighted by tints of lavender, peach, and gold. The original lot description at Stacks Bowers notes, "A flaw in the planchet obscures much of the T in LIBERTY, though the surfaces are lacking in notable post-Mint blemishes. The dies are heavily fatigued in this state, with dramatic cracks and evidence of clashing visible on each side." The Hansen Collection possess the finest known example for the date, a MS64.

    Scarce Bust Dollar Issue

    1803 $1 NGC VF35 (Large 3)

    No Reserve
    Next Bid: $2,800.00
    Closes: 3D 1H

Popular and scarce late-issue Bust dollar, much tougher than the 1798-1799 issues of this type. Wonderful underlying luster and rose-gold and sky blue tones make for lovely eye appeal. Boldly defined despite it's time in circulation, this would make a great type example.

    Low Mintage Date

    1841 $1 NGC MS60

Low mintage "No Motto" issue of just 173,000 coins struck. Gold toning throughout with semi-prooflike fields and nice eye appeal. No wear, but a bit too much "chatter" for a higher grade.

    Low Mintage Date

    1843 $1 PCGS XF45

Low mintage issue of 165,100 coins struck. Attractive, lightly circulated with trace luster remaining and some nice "original dirt" still adhering. (For accuracy, the reverse edge rail has two chips.)

    Nice Type Coin

    1853 $1 PCGS MS63+ ex: D.L. Hansen

Well-detailed example olive toned surfaces that show tints of gold highlighting the devices when turned in the light. Nice! PCGS+ grade for premium quality at the top of end of the assigned grade. The Hansen Collection hosts the finest known example for the date, a MS66+.
