Half Cents & Large Cents

    Choice Planchet

    1794 1/2c NGC VF35

    Next Bid: $3,600.00
    Closes: 9D 4H

An excellent "low relief head" example of this important and underrated early American copper. Cohen 4a variety, though not noted on the label. A handsome midgrade example with excellent overall milk chocolate color. Some deep die clashing on the obverse surrounding the portrait adds interest.

    Affordable Early Half Cent Issue

1811 1/2c PCGS XF Details (Environmental Damage)

    No Reserve
    Next Bid: $300.00
    Closes: 9D 4H

The 1811-dated Half Cents are likely far rarer than mintage numbers conclude. As most were made earlier in the year, they most likely held a date of a previous issue. As a result, it is estimated that as few as 25,000-30,000 pieces were produced, making it a very difficult date to obtain in all grades. This is the most affordable example that we have handled and while it is indeed a subject of environmental issues, the details are quite nice and it's a perfect piece for the "affordable" set.

    Beautifully Lustrous Gem

    1833 1/2c PCGS/CAC MS66 BN (C-1)

    Next Bid: $9,750.00
    Closes: 9D 4H

Rich, natural toning and smooth, dynamic luster work in unison to create a truly impressive example of this Classic Head Half Cent. Just the fact that this beauty survived this long unscathed is a miracle unto itself. Clearly an easy decision for CAC. Tied with 7 others as the finest known BN example at PCGS, yet only 4 others are CAC approved.

    Stunning Gem Proof

    1847 1/2c NGC/CAC Proof 65 BN (Restrike)

    $10,500.00

Impossibly low mintage of just 27 pieces in total. Reflective fields throughout as the obverse displays beautiful rose-red and yellow green hues when flashed in direct lighting. The reverse features neon violet and pink colors when rotated, yet remains a rich mahogany brown when viewed straight on. NGC pop 4, PCGS pop 3, with a CAC population of 3 in this grade.
