John Brush

John Brush is the President and Owner of David Lawrence. Along with managing the office and buying & selling coins, a huge part of his time is spent assisting with the curation of the Hansen Collection. John joined DLRC in July 2006 as a staff numismatist after leaving his Wholesale Trader position at Spectrum Numismatics (now Stack’s-Bowers). John also serves as the Chairman of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) and as a Board member of the Professional Numismatists Guild.
Originally from Anderson, SC, John got his Bachelor’s in Religion with a Minor in History at Birmingham-Southern College. He finished one year of graduate school at Emory University before escaping to pursue his passion of becoming a coin dealer. When he’s not surrounded by coins, John spends time with his wife Ruth and two sons, Wesley and Luke cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and the Atlanta Braves.

Originally from Falls Church, Virginia, Jason came to Virginia Beach in 1982 to attend Virginia Wesleyan College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management. After graduating, he decided to stay in the area and work in retail management. He also owned a sports card and collectibles store in a local mall.
From 1992 to 1995 Jason worked at a local coin shop in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he did retail as well as serving a network of coin dealers on a wholesale level. After a seven-year stint in the telecommunications industry as a sales manager, Jason re-entered the coin business as a member of the David Lawrence team in 2003. Jason is a key component to the executive and numismatic team, where he sets up the online auctions, assists customers daily, and manages the office.

Matthew Kavalek joined DLRC in March of 2006 and started out in our imaging department, quickly moving his way into the Numismatic Support team. Matthew helps our team of numismatists with everything from answering phones, describing coins to customers, and assisting with our auction consignments. If you need assistance with anything coins, please feel free to call Matthew at ext 109.
Amandeep Jassal joined DLRC in 2019 as a Senior Numismatic Buyer. Born in India, Amandeep was raised in Connecticut and has his Bachelor Degree in Accounting & Economics. He happened upon the coin industry by accident in 2005 when a dealer needed his IT expertise. From that interaction, he realized the direct connection coins had with historical economics of countries and was fascinated. After being a buyer and seller of rare date gold, his work shifted to creating, supporting and managing numismatic markets by providing buy & sell spreadsheets as well as market information. Amandeep will interact with many of our VIP cliental and provide them with the best customer service by listening to their comments and concerns so DLRC may adapt to fulfill their needs. You will see him as part of our show group, and he will also travel to see clients to aid them in determining the best venue for their selling and buying needs. In his spare time, Amandeep enjoys cheering for the Yankees and Jets, working on cars and construction work.
Dale Larsen joined DLRC as a Senior Numismatic Buyer in 2020. Born and raised in Elgin, Illinois, Dale got his Bachelor of Science in Radio/TV/Journalism from Southern Illinois University. He worked in Management and Sales in the Specialty Chemicals Field from 1972-2002. The Larsen’s relocated to Southern California in 1985. With a lifelong interest since age 9 in coin collecting, in 2002, Dale made the decision to turn his hobby into a career as a full time numismatist. He joined Spectrum Numismatics as a buyer and worked there for 13 years traveling the country buying coin collections. The past 5 years he spent with another wholesale dealer in the Orange County area, before joining the DLRC team. Dale and his wife Cheryl have two grown children: their son, Derek has worked at Collectors Universe for over 20 years and their daughter Kristen attended the University of Notre Dame and lives in Indiana. In his spare time, Dale cheers for the Fighting Irish and the Chicago Cubs.
Brian Kint joined DLRC in April 2018, but he has been involved with our company for several years as he was an Audit Manager with Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer, P.C., a public accounting firm, in which DLRC was one of his accounts. As the Vice President of Finance, Brian oversees all financial management including managing banking relationships, financial reporting and most importantly, keeping our vendors paid. Brian got his BSBA from Old Dominion University and is active in his community as a board member and officer of the Academy of Music in Norfolk as well as serving on the VA Opera’s Hampton Roads Board of Governors.
Mike is our Shipping Manager but has worn many different hats since joining DLRC full time in 2011. Mike started as an imager, but has worked his way up to the mail room and now to credit manager. While managing the shipping department and heading up accounts receivable, you also might run into him at some of the national shows. If you have any problems concerning your order, including payment, layaways, returns and shipping, please contact Mike, and he will be happy to assist you. Mike graduated from Old Dominion University with a BA in History and a Minor in Sports and Facility Management, during which time he also managed a movie theater. Outside of work, Mike enjoys watching baseball and movies.
After working summers at DLRC, Julia joined DLRC full time in 2018 as our Customer Support Specialist. As a member of our social media team and Coin Group, Julia assists clients with buying and selling, consigning and auction bidding. She also updates and helps maintain the ever growing impressive D.L. Hansen Collection. You may also see her at many of the national conventions as a member of our traveling staff. Julia is available Sunday nights from 7:00 to 9:00pm during auction closing to assist with bidding and account questions. If you have any questions, Julia is happy to assist! Katie joined DLRC in 2017 as an Imager in the Imaging Department and now is responsible for processing and pulling day to day orders, receiving and processing payments, as well as packaging/shipping orders. Katie spends the second half of her day assisting our Vice President of Finance with daily financial reports and reconciliations. If you need an extra hand with anything around the office, Katie is your go-to girl! She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration within the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University. As a native to Virginia Beach, Katie enjoys going to the beach or the local waterpark with her son Lincoln and her husband Ross.
