S.S. Central America: 1844-D $5 PCGS AU58 & Pinch of California Gold Dust

DLRC #: 1658602 // PCGS #: 8221

A lightly circulated gold half eagle from Dahlonega that was recovered from the SS Central America shipwreck. A very fascinating piece as it shows that Dahlonega gold cons were circulating even as far west as California as it returned to the East Coast in 1857. A low mintage gold issue from Dahlonega, Georgia.
