Item Description:
Wonderfully struck for the issue, the design elements are crisp and the date is fully represented. Light high-point friction is present, to be expected of the grade. The surfaces are satiny and smooth showing no disturbances other than light clash marks. Glowing caramel-gold luster throughout adds to the stunning eye appeal! Overall a splendid example of this rare, low mintage date. In 1855, the Dahlonega Mint produced only 1,811 Gold Dollars. In addition, this is the only D-Mint Type II Gold Dollar, thus placing additional pressure on an already popular date.
