Item Description:
Rarity from the Dahlonega mint! Only 75-80 pieces are believed to exist. An elusive and historically significant southern branch mint issue that has an official mintage of just 1,597 pieces and an unknown (but tiny) production under the auspices of the Confederacy. A remarkably original and choice mid-grade example! Beautifully original surfaces show minimal wear with no abrasion of individual significance. Tones of violet and blue highlight the devices, especially vivid coloration on the reverse. Surfaces display gentle luster and are extraordinarily clean for the grade as well as the issue, which is notorious for abrasions. CAC approved for quality.
