1823/2 1c NGC AU58 BN (N-1)

DLRC #: 233840 // PCGS #: 1630

The 1823 large cent is very scarce large cent indeed, especially in higher grades. The overdate variety of the 1823/2 is even scarce than the plain date. This Newcomb-1 variety features a bold overdate on the 3. The surfaces of this coin are dark chocolate and nearly a complete strike with only traces of wear on the highest points. According to the population reports, this coin is tied among four others at NGC for finest graded. There are no mint state 1823/2's reported by PCGS or NGC.
