Item Description:
In a word -- wow! It's not very often we are able to offer a mint state 1904-S Barber half. And, far less often, a gem example of this date. The 1904-S is the undisputed key to the Barber half dollar set in high grade and is truly underrated compared to other contemporary issues like the 1901-S quarter, which is more plentiful and more than double the value. This example is fully struck with honey-golden toning over carefully preserved surfaces. Just 3 examples certified at PCGS in this grade. A few are known finer but their price goes up dramatically.
