Item Description:
Magnificent example of one of our favorite dates from the Civil War period. With a mintage of 5,000 pieces, far fewer survive today. The present example comes from a population of one with just a single example graded finer, a MS68+. Remarkably preserved surfaces are a lovely deep yellow-gold with pale blue highlights and touches orange iridescence throughout. The strike is boldly executed with strong clash marks on both sides. The fields are completely devoid of distraction and radiate vibrant mint luster. Unmatched eye appeal! CAC approved for quality.
