Item Description:

A major rarity in the Lincoln series, the proof striking of the 1909 VDB cent is extremely rare as very few of the estimated 1,194 coins issued survive today. The coin offered here is just one of 11 coins to make the grade with RB surfaces at PCGS and NGC combined with one finer. For all practical purposes, NGC could have called this a full red as the pretty toning simply adds to the eye appeal. Shades of light violet and rose mix beautifully with the orange-red coloring and the strike/luster combination is ideal. An important coin for the serious collector.
