Item Description:

The 1873-CC Trade dollar is a very important numismatic issue that is one of the set stoppers to achieving a high grade collection in mint state. Technically speaking the coin is super-clean with smooth, honey golden surfaces and free of any distracting marks. As of May 2012, there are only 4 coins that have achieved this grade at PCGS with a sole MS65 coin. Examples of this quality rarely appear on the market. This piece represents the last live auction appearance of this coin in a PCGS MS64 holder -- and it sold back in January 2007 for $46,000 (Heritage). The next prior appearance was in September 2005 which knocked down for an amazing $80,500 (Heritage). Needless to say, this is a great opportunity for the serious collector.
