Item Description:
A very scarce, early no motto Seated half dollar, the 1842-O is a grade rarity issue in mint state. This example, from the famous Eliasberg collection, has a wonderful pedigree and quality to match. Lustrous and lightly toned with a sharper strike than we typically see on early New Orleans products. This coin is also tied for the finest approved at CAC for quality and eye appeal. PCGS has graded one coin in MS64+, but none finer.
