Item Description:
Lustrous lightly marked surfaces and an original, golden-yellow color. Nicely struck except at some of the denticles, and most of the central details are crisply defined. This example is identifiable by a row of three milling marks to the left of the date. Because of the rim cud that appears at 12:00 on the obverse, we can pinpoint the striking date to around March 22, 1842, the day the die was known to have cracked.
