Item Description:
Sunny, yellow-gold surfaces, loaded with luster and light circulation marks. Liberty's chin has one mark and another appears in the lower right obverse field. This was the first year of production for the San Francisco Mint, allowing for the striking of coins in the area where the gold was being mined. This also eased some of the pressure at the Philadelphia Mint and reduced the need for dangerous and costly gold shipments.
