Realized: $2,250.

Item Description:
A rare variety of this key date in the Indian cent series, the "Pick Axe" is formed from die damage around the designer's (James Longacre) "L" initial at the end of the ribbon of the Indian. A pretty gem with lovely surfaces, the Pick Axe is a glaring admission from the latest edition of the Cherrypicker's Guide, but is noted in earlier editions.
